Why is Beyond Chocolate for women only?

Most women are more comfortable talking about their relationship with food and their body with other women. They just don't feel they can talk about certain things with men around.

Men are increasingly aware of their weight and body image. The issues and methods of exploring these are subtly different and men, like women, feel more comfortable exploring these issues in a single sex group. Beyond Chocolate is in the process of creating a course for men, which will be available in the future.

Am I too young/too old to benefit from Beyond Chocolate?

Beyond Chocolate works well for women of all ages. Past participants have ranged from women aged 20 to 70. In fact a mixture of ages in a group can be an advantage.

I would love to come on Beyond Chocolate but I can't afford it, can you help?

It's our policy to make Beyond Chocolate accessible to as many women as possible. If paying the course fee is a problem or you have a low income Beyond Chocolate offers bursaries as well as the option to pay in instalments. Talk to us and we will find a solution that works for you.

I am wary of working in groups, will I have to talk about personal issues in from of others?

No, definitely not. Beyond Chocolate is not about standing up and baring your soul to a room full of women! While some of the philosophy is American in origin, the methods are not. Beyond Chocolate is about you exploring your relationship with food and experiencing ways of transforming your relationship with food. There is no need for you to share information with the group. You are free to say as little or as much as you like at all times and you will benefit from Beyond Chocolate regardless.

I have allergies/intolerances to certain foods, can Beyond Chocolate work for me?

Beyond Chocolate is not a diet, It does not tell you what foods to eat. There are no diet plans or menu ideas. The Beyond Chocolate philosophy can work whatever your dietary needs and preferences.

What do the costs cover?

Beyond Chocolate is all-inclusive. All materials will be provided by Beyond Chocolate and are included in the course fee. There are no extra hidden costs, we promise….and you get to go home with some surprise goodies!

OK, I've read through all the information but I'm still wondering what actually happens on a workshop.

Well, you'll have to do it then! It's an exciting and explorative weekend and everybody gets lots out of it. Come to one of our FREE introductory workshops and get a taste of how it works and what it can do for you.
Also, read Sophie's story on how she created Beyond Chocolate - this will give you a good idea of what it's all about.

Beyond Chocolate has inspired many women to blog about their experiences as they ditch the diets and transform their approach to food. Although we strive to keep up to date on our star bloggers, the very nature of blogging means that sometimes a blog willfold and still feature on our website or a blog will start in one direction and go off on a completely different tangent. So bear with us if the links below don't seem to work or you end up readingn a blog that has not much to do with Beyond Chocolate and dumping the diets! For inspiring reads see...
